Would you
like to take the class required to apply for your concealed weapon permit AND know the money will go to a worthy cause? The
Columbia York Rite Bodies will be hosting a CWP class on Saturday, July 11th, 2009.
The class will last 8 hours (required by state law) and includes instruction
in pistol knowledge, safe gun handling and storage, ammunition knowledge, fundamentals of pistol shooting, pistol maintenance,
shooting positions and range safety. The class includes a written test and a shooting qualification.* Bro. Bill Rentiers and
Bro. Steve Kelsay are NRA certified and SLED approved instructors who will teach the class.
You will need to bring a working firearm, a holster,
a strong belt (to hold the holster), ear protection and eye protection. (You will also need to bring 50 rounds of ammunition
for your firearm, but leave the ammunition in your car. Do NOT bring ammunition into the classroom!)
Class starts at 8:00am and will last until around 4:00pm.
The cost will be $80, which includes student materials, two sets of fingerprints, and one color photograph.
Classroom space will be limited to 50 students, so sign

Students
who successfully complete this class will be able to apply to SLED for a South Carolina concealable weapon permit. (NOTE: SLED
charges a separate fee of $50 to apply)
*shooting qualification will be conducted the following
morning at Midlands Firing Range.
